I am selling a fabulous Rosenthal Bavaria piece today! This item is an annual Christmas plate. My husband was out treasure-hunting a few days ago, and found a group of Rosenthal Christmas plates. The plates are quite early, dating between 1930 to 1935. This is the 1935 plate. The scene is titled “CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA”, designed by Heinrick Fink. The word “WEIHNACHTEN” is at the top of the plate and the date “1935” at the bottom of the plate. The plate’s scene is embossed, and glazed in multiple colors. Simply gorgeous! There is an embossed artist’s signature “H FINK” at the bottom of the scene above the date. The plate is accented with gold around the scene. The plate measures 8 1/2” in diameter. The back is marked: “Weihnachten an der See Entwurf von Heinrick Fink Rosenthal Germany KUNSTABTEILUNG Selb ”. Condition is pristine, even mint! No sign of use or wear, and no damage at all.
